Diisocetyl Adipate is a diester of hexadecyl alcohol and adipic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, add flexibility so films or polymer layers do not become excessively rigid, and leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to dissolve other raw materials and create a uniform formula.[2]
