About Dihydroxyethyl Stearamine Oxide

Dihydroxyethyl Stearamine Oxide is a tertiary amine oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and increase the amount of foam while helping it remain stable.[2] It is also used to reduce hair tangling and roughness for smoother manageability, help ingredients that do not dissolve readily in water disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase, and lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2]
