Diheptyl Sodium Sulfosuccinate is the sodium salt of the diester of heptyl alcohol and sulfosuccinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing, and help water-insoluble ingredients disperse more evenly in the aqueous phase.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2]
