About Diethylhexyl Succinate

Diethylhexyl Succinate is a diester of 2-ethylhexyl alcohol and succinic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application, and add flexibility so films or polymer layers do not become excessively hard.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth and to dissolve other raw materials to create a uniform formula.[2]
