About Didodecyl Butanetetracarboxylate
Didodecyl Butanetetracarboxylate is an ester containing parts derived from an acid and an alcohol.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to create emulsion formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to increase the amount of foam and help it last longer.[1] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to adjust a formula’s viscosity and flow.[1]
