About Dicetyldimonium Chloride

Dicetyldimonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and reduce tangling and rough feel to leave hair smooth.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so that ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
