About Dicetyl Adipate

Dicetyl Adipate is a diester of cetyl alcohol and adipic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel; to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application; and to add flexibility so films or polymer layers do not become excessively hard.[2] It is also used to leave the skin’s surface feeling soft and smooth.[2]
