Dicapryl Adipate is a diester of capryl alcohol and adipic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel; form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application; and add flexibility so films or polymer layers do not become excessively hard.[2]
