About Dibutyl Adipate

Dibutyl Adipate is the diester of butyl alcohol and adipic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application, and add flexibility so that films or polymer layers do not become excessively rigid.[2] It is also used to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth and to dissolve other raw materials to create a uniform formulation.[2]
