About Diatomaceous Earth
Diatomaceous Earth is a mineral composed mainly of diatom shells and fragments from various types of diatoms, some of which may be calcified.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to physically remove deposits from the surface of the skin or teeth, help powder ingredients flow evenly without clumping, increase the formulation's volume, and adjust the amount of solids.[2] It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible through the product.[2]
