About Diammonium Oleamido PEG-2 Sulfosuccinate
Diammonium Oleamido PEG-2 Sulfosuccinate is the diammonium salt of the monooleylamide of sulfosuccinic acid diglycol half ester.[1] The number 2 in the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added; within the same base structure, changing this number may also change water miscibility and the formula’s viscosity and spreadability. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities be rinsed away with water, increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing, and help ingredients that do not dissolve well in water disperse more evenly in the water phase.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and disperse evenly.[2]
