DEA-Methyl Myristate Sulfonate is an ester in which parts derived from an acid and an alcohol are bonded.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to form foam during use, and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[1] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
