About DEA-C12-13 Pareth-3 Sulfate
DEA-C12-13 Pareth-3 Sulfate is an ingredient in the form of a salt, in which an acid and a base are paired.[1] The number 3 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units, changing the balance between water-loving and oil-loving parts and thereby affecting cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and to lower surface tension so that raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[1] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
