About Cyclomethicone
Cyclomethicone is a general term for cyclic dimethylpolysiloxane compounds.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, reduce tangling and roughness in hair to leave it feeling soft and well-groomed, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[3] It is also used to dissolve other raw materials and create a uniform formulation.[3] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
