About Cycloheptasiloxane
Cycloheptasiloxane is a cyclic dimethyl polysiloxane in which n is 7, and the other cyclomethicones with n values of 4, 5, and 6 are present at less than 1%.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help powder ingredients flow evenly without forming clumps, reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to dissolve other raw materials and create a uniform formulation.[2]
