About Corn Starch Modified

Modified Corn Starch is the calcium salt of an ester obtained by reacting corn starch with a glucose substitution degree of 0.1 or less with 3-(dodecenyl)dihydro-2,5-furandione.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to absorb liquids such as water or oil in formulations, to form a thin film on the skin, hair, or nail surface after application, and to condition the skin surface so it feels soft and smooth.[2] It is also used to adjust the viscosity and flow of formulations.[2]
