About Corn Acid
Corn Acid is a mixture of fatty acids obtained from corn oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended.[2] It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less translucent and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
