About Cocoyl Glutamic Acid

Cocoyl Glutamic Acid is the coconut fatty acid amide of glutamic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to reduce tangling and rough feel in hair for a smoother finish.[2] It is also used to leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth and to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
