About Coco/Oleamidopropyl Betaine
Coco/Oleamidopropyl Betaine is an amphoteric surfactant derived mainly from a mixture of fatty acids derived from oleic acid and coconut oil.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or cling to one another, help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, and increase the amount of foam and help it remain stable. It is also used to reduce tangling and roughness for smoother, more manageable hair, leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth, and lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] It is used to adjust the viscosity and flow properties of a formulation.[2] [2]
