About Cis-Retinoic Acid
Cis-retinoic acid is an oil-soluble ingredient with a retinoid structure.[1] It mixes better with oil than with water, and its properties may change when exposed to light and oxygen, so formula stability is carefully managed. Light-blocking packaging and an appropriate solubilization method are preferably used to reduce exposure to heat and air during storage. In cosmetics, it is used to help manage excess shine caused by sebum and scalp and skin condition.[1] It cannot be used in cosmetics in Europe.[2]
