About Ciclopirox Olamine
Ciclopirox Olamine is a heterocyclic organic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce the formation or visibility of dandruff on the scalp and to inhibit microbial growth.[2] It is also formulated as a preservative to inhibit microbial proliferation in the product and delay deterioration.[2] In Europe, when used as a preservative, the secondary amine content of the finished product is limited to a maximum of 0.5%, and nitrosamine content must not exceed 50 μg/kg.[3]
