About CI 77266
CI 77266 is a pigment used to provide color.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to add color to products or areas of application.[1] Carbon black cannot be used in cosmetics in Korea. However, it is exempt from this restriction when benzo[a]pyrene and dibenz[a,h]anthracene are each present at no more than 5 ppb and total polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons are no more than 0.5 ppm.[2] In Europe, it may be used as a cosmetic colorant at up to 10%. However, only nanomaterials meeting specified purity, crystal form, particle-size, and coating criteria are permitted, and purity must be at least 97%.[3]
