About Chitosan Isostearamide Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride

Chitosan Isostearamide Hydroxypropyltrimonium Chloride is a quaternary ammonium salt of the reaction product of chitosan and isostearic anhydride with 3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyltrimethylammonium chloride.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to make emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, smooth hair by reducing tangling and rough feel, and smooth and soften the skin surface.[2] It is also used to protect the skin from external factors and to lower surface tension so raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
