About Chalk
Chalk is a naturally occurring mineral composed mainly of calcium carbonate.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to physically remove deposits from the surface of the skin or teeth, absorb liquids such as water or oil in a formulation, increase the volume of a formulation, and adjust the amount of solids. It is also used to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible, and to adjust a formulation’s viscosity and flow.[2] [2]
