About Cetyl PPG-2 Isodeceth-7 Carboxylate

Cetyl PPG-2 Isodeceth-7 Carboxylate is the cetyl alcohol ester of a carboxylic acid obtained by oxidizing 7-mole ethoxylated and 2-mole propoxylated isodecyl alcohol.[1] The number 2 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; this number and the type of fatty component attached to it affect how well it mixes with oils and the feel upon application. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and to leave the skin surface soft and smooth.[2]
