About Cetyl PEG/PPG-15/15 Butyl Ether Dimethicone

Cetyl PEG/PPG-15/15 Butyl Ether Dimethicone is a polymer of the butyl ether of a dimethicone derivative to which an average of 15 moles of ethylene oxide and 15 moles of propylene oxide have been added, and cetyl dimethicone.[1] The number 15 after PPG indicates the average number of linked propylene oxide units; this number and the type of fatty component attached to it affect how well it mixes with oils and its application feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly blended, leave the skin's surface feeling soft and smooth, and lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
