About Cetyl Betaine
Cetyl Betaine is a zwitterionic compound.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce static electricity that causes hair strands to lift or stick together, help sebum and impurities wash away with water, and increase the amount of foam and help it resist collapsing.[2] It is also used to reduce tangling and roughness in hair for a smoother finish, leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth, lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and control the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2] [2]
