About Ceteareth-25

Ceteareth-25 is the polyethylene glycol ether of cetearyl alcohol.[1] The number 25 at the end of the name refers to the average number of ethylene oxide units added. It changes the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, affecting cleansing and emulsifying properties as well as skin feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly blended, and lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
