About Ceratonia Siliqua Gum

Ceratonia Siliqua Gum is an ingredient obtained by grinding carob seeds.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients in a formulation bind together and maintain its shape, reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, and help prevent emulsified mixtures of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to form a thin film on the surface of the skin, hair, or nails after application, help prevent the ingredient's characteristic odor or taste from becoming overly noticeable, and adjust the formulation's viscosity and flow.[2]
