About Cera Microcristallina
Microcrystalline wax is a petroleum-derived wax characterized by fine crystals, unlike the large crystals of paraffin wax, and is mainly composed of fatty components obtained from the starting material, so it blends better with oils than with water.[1] It is suitable for adding slip and a soft, flexible feel to skin or hair while reducing the sensation of moisture evaporating quickly. In cosmetics, it is used to help ingredients bind together and maintain the shape of the formulation, to prevent emulsions of water and oil from separating easily, and to reduce light transmission so the contents appear less visible.[2] It is also used to adjust the viscosity and flow of the formulation.[2]
