About Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil

Cedrus Atlantica Bark Oil is a volatile oil obtained from the bark of Cedrus Atlantica.[1] The volatile components obtained from Cedrus Atlantica bark contribute to the first impression of the fragrance and the lingering scent after application, and tend to evaporate more lightly than ordinary plant oils. In cosmetics, it is used to prevent the characteristic odor or taste of an ingredient from becoming overly pronounced, to add fragrance to a product or adjust an ingredient's characteristic odor, and to leave the skin surface feeling soft and smooth.[4] In Korea, it cannot be used in cosmetics when it is an oil or extract with a peroxide value exceeding 10 mmol/L.[2] In Europe, only ingredients with a peroxide value below 10 mmol/L may be used.[3]
