Caprylic Acid is a fatty acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities wash away with water, create an emulsion in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and keep the ingredient’s characteristic odor or taste from becoming too prominent. It is also used to add fragrance to products or adjust the ingredient’s characteristic odor and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2] [2]
