About Calcium Salicylate
Calcium Salicylate is the calcium salt of salicylic acid.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to inhibit the growth of microorganisms in a product and slow deterioration during storage.[3] In Europe, when used as a preservative, it is permitted at up to 0.5% (based on acid content).[2] However, it cannot be used in products intended for children under 3 years of age.[2]
