C9-11 Alketh-8 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic C9-11 fatty alcohol mixture containing an average of 8 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
