About C22-24 Pareth-33
C22-24 Pareth-33 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic fatty alcohols with 22–24 carbon atoms and an average of 33 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 33 at the end of the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added, changing the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions and affecting cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to help sebum and impurities rinse away with water, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and help keep emulsions from separating.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
