C20-40 Alketh-10 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic mixture of C20-40 alcohols containing an average of 10 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
