About C14-15 Pareth-12
C14-15 Pareth-12 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic fatty alcohol mixture containing alcohols with 14–15 carbon atoms and an average of 12 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 12 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing ability, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
