About C14-15 Alketh-8

C14-15 Alketh-8 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic fatty alcohols containing 14–15 carbon atoms and an average of 8 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so that raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly; to help sebum and impurities wash away with water; and to allow small amounts of oil-soluble ingredients to mix transparently or evenly into the water phase.[2]
