About C14-15 Alcohols

C14-15 Alcohols is a mixture of synthetic fatty alcohols with alkyl chains containing 14–15 carbon atoms.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smooth feel, create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and help prevent the emulsified state of water and oil from separating easily.[2] It is also used to smooth and soften the skin’s surface, help keep the formula’s condition and properties from changing easily during storage, and control formula viscosity and flow.[2]
