About C12-16 Pareth-7
C12-16 Pareth-7 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic fatty alcohols containing 12–16 carbon atoms, with an average of 7 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 7 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
