About C12-15 Pareth-9 Hydrogenated Tallowate
C12-15 Pareth-9 Hydrogenated Tallowate is an ester of C12-15 Pareth-9 and hydrogenated tallow acid.[1] The number 9 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-loving and oil-loving portions, resulting in differences in cleansing ability, emulsifying ability, and sensory feel. In cosmetics, it is used to reduce friction on the skin or hair and add a smoother feel, create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and smooth and soften the skin surface.[2] It is also used to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
