About C12-15 Pareth-7
C12-15 Pareth-7 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of C12-15 synthetic fatty alcohols with an average of 7 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 7 at the end of the name refers to the average number of added ethylene oxide units. It changes the balance between the water-attracting and oil-attracting parts, creating differences in cleansing ability, emulsifying power, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to make emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
