About C12-15 Pareth-12
C12-15 Pareth-12 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic C12-15 fatty alcohols with an average of 12 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 12 at the end of the name indicates the average number of added ethylene oxide units; by changing the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions, it affects cleansing power, emulsifying ability, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed, and to lower surface tension so that ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
