C12-15 Alketh-7 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic fatty alcohols with 7 moles of ethylene oxide on average.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
