About C12-14 Sec-Alketh-50
C12-14 Sec-Alketh-50 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a mixture of synthetic secondary C12-14 alcohols with an average ethoxylation value of 50 moles.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly; to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed; and to help prevent the emulsified water-and-oil state from separating readily.[2] It is also used to make small amounts of oil-soluble ingredients mix transparently or evenly into the water phase.[2]
