About C12-14 Sec-Alketh-5
C12-14 Sec-Alketh-5 is a poly(ethylene glycol) ether of a mixture of synthetic secondary C12-14 alcohols with an average ethoxylation value of 5.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to suppress unwanted foam during manufacturing or use, reduce surface tension so that raw materials can wet, mix, and spread evenly, and create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2] It is also used to help keep water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily.[2]
