C12-14 Sec-Alketh-15 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic secondary C12-14 alcohol mixture with an average ethoxylation value of 15 moles.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so raw materials wet, mix, and spread evenly; to create emulsions in which water and oil are evenly mixed; and to help prevent water-and-oil emulsions from separating easily.[2]
