C12-14 Alketh-3 is a polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic C12-14 alcohol mixture with an average of 3 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to reduce surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly combined.[2]
