About C12-13 Pareth-15
C12-13 Pareth-15 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic C12-13 fatty alcohol mixture with an average of 15 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] The number 15 at the end of the name indicates the average number of ethylene oxide units added, changing the balance between water-loving and oil-loving portions and creating differences in cleansing power, emulsification, and feel. In cosmetics, it is used to create emulsified formulas in which water and oil are evenly mixed and to lower surface tension so ingredients can wet, mix, and spread evenly.[2]
