C12-13 Alketh-3 is the polyethylene glycol ether of a synthetic C12-13 fatty alcohol mixture with an average of 3 moles of ethylene oxide.[1] In cosmetics, it is used to lower surface tension so ingredients wet, mix, and spread evenly, and to create emulsified formulations in which water and oil are evenly mixed.[2]
